Award Rudi Verheyen

The award Rudi Verheyen rewards scientific research with a particular impact on the environmental policy in Flanders. The award is named after the late Professor Lord Rudi Verheyen for his pioneering work and commitment for the Flemish policy on nature and the environment.
On March 24th 2014 Lieselot Bisschop was awarded this prize for her PhD research on transnational environmental crime. Flemish Minister of Environment, Nature and Culture Joke Schauvliege awarded the prize at Antwerp University, Institute of Environment and Sustainable development. The 8.000 euro award will be invested in continuing research on environmental issues, relevant for both science and practice.
