Meeting Angela Gorta in Sydney
Being in Australia to attend a workshop on ‘the Transnational Role of Private Security’ at the Centre for Excellence on Policing and Security (http://www.ceps.edu.au/) at Griffith University in Brisbane ; Arne Dormaels and Marleen Easton took the opportunity to meet Angela Gorta. She is currently principal analyst at the Police Integrity Commission in Sydney and an expert in the prevention of corruption (http://www.pic.nsw.gov.au/). In 1994 she wrote a report on public sector employees’ understanding of corruption and their attitudes to taking action about potentially corrupt activities which they may witness in their workplaces (http://www.icac.nsw.gov.au/). On the basis of her experience she provided important critical feedback on the GaPS-research line ‘perceptions of corruption’ currently being developed in Belgium.
