GaPS publishes on police-academic partnerships
Taking into account the multitude of partnerships in Belgium and the Netherlands, police and science seem to have been converging more and more in recent years. This is understandable since police do not possess all the knowledge to cope with complex social problems. However, closing the gap between both worlds is no easy task.
In our contribution to #Panopticon and Tijdschrift voor de Politie, Marleen Easton and Jasper De Paepe call upon boundary spanners who can initiate a dialogue and a new dynamic. On the basis of our historical review of the functioning of the Flemish Centre for Policing and Security (vzw CPS) and IUNGOS, we provide a number of sites that form the foundations for a long-term and successful cooperation.
