Lieselot Bisschop visiting fellow @ University of Calgary

13 Mar 2013

Lieselot Bisschop is currently working at the University of Calgary (Canada) as a Visiting Fellow during her appointment as a researcher at the research unit Governing and Policing Security (GaPS). She works within the Haskayne School of Business. The visit in Calgary is interesting as a research context because it is Canada’s energy capital. The energy sector is a complex context for environmental governance. This sector has strong links with the globalization of energy flows and of environmental governance. The industry is also under pressure because of declining stocks of natural resources and because of increasing public scrutiny of corporate behavior, sometimes even referred to as environmental crimes. Lieselot hopes this visiting fellowship can provide the basis for a research project on environmental governance in the energy sector. During this visit, she also invests in the further valorization of her PhD research through publications and stays in contact with her master students and GaPS colleagues.

On April 1st Lieselot presented her e-waste case study to the Canadian Institute for Resources Law. http://www.cirl.ca/system/files/Lieselot_Bisschop_Presentation-2013_April_1.pdf
