Biography

Ilse Sinnaeve graduated as a social worker in 1993 and worked for some years in a Centre for Adult Education. In 2004 she obtained a licentiate degree in social welfare studies. From 2004 she was engaged at Ghent University as a researcher in various projects: the Youth Research Platform (2004-2006, Department of Social Welfare Studies); the development of an ICT-monitor for primary and secondary education (2007-2009, Department of Educational Studies). From 2009 to August 2011 she organised and coordinated an in service training on school management for school principals in primary and secundary education (Department of Educational Studies). From September 2011 she is engaged as a researcher at University College Ghent, where she is conducting a study on police and social work. The central focus of this study is the police interventions toward children and young people, from the perspective of the welfare-justice debate.
